What is Ecoogler?

Ecoogler is a search engine that uses Yahoo technology and helps reforesting trees and safeguard water resources in the Amazon region, which constitute today one fourth of the fresh water reserves of our planet.

By using Ecoogler you get same results and help the non-profit association Aquaverde (Switzerland) and the French Cœur de Forêt.
In Spain, Ecoogler collaborates with Fundación Canaria para la Reforestación (FORESTA).

How it works?

For every search in Ecoogler, you contribute symbolically to reforest one leaf.
For every 10.000 searches, Ecoogler and Aquaverde plant a tree in the Amazon and in the Canary Islands.

1 search=            10.000= 1 Planted tree

Aquaverde in the essence

AQUAVERDE is a non-profit association founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 2002.

Its goal is to promote and support all initiatives thriving to bring a new dimension to the interaction between human society and environment, in the perspective of sustainable development and dignity of People.

The association concentrates its efforts in priority to the safeguard of water resources
in the Amazon region, which constitute today one fourth of the fresh water reserves of our planet.

This biovariety treasure is a center piece of the worlds climatic regulation which transforms most of the carbonic gas into oxygen, and with its Amazon and hundreds of affluent rivers, makes for one fourth of the planets drinking water, it plays a crucial role on the rain cycle through the evapotranspiration phenomenon of trees.

The Association supports projects which combine reforestation with a durable development economy for local populations thus proposing an economic alternative to deforestation.

The general objective of the association is to induce and promote new visions of north-south cooperation in development and international relations by the realization of a reciprocity based communication.

Foresta in the essence

Foresta is an open, participative organisation, the only aim of which is to recover and enhance our exceptional but spoilt natural resources.

Within the necessary equilibrium between man and his enviroment, at Foresta we aim to create more woodland both in our countryside and on our peaks and in the conscience of all Canary Island residents.

The Foundation was based in December, 1998 on the concern of a group of professionals and nature lovers, seeing privately owned land left abandoned and the present condition of the Canary Island plant ecosystem.

For this Foundation to be possible, support was sought among private initiative and backing was found in four local businesses, now its founder patrons. More collaborators have gradually appeared to help this Foundation operate and become consolidated.

The Foundation has a clear vocation for collaboration and participation, both with society in general and with different institutions and public bodies.

The basic principle of Foresta is to increase and enhance the surface area of the islands given over to woodland and forests, securing the land against the erosion derived from deforestation in the past, creating new life and maintaining biodiversity.

The goals enabling us to comply with this fundamental principle are:
  • to enhance the ecological and social and economic quality of the area, according to its peculiar characteristics
  • to increase the islands' landscape and tourist value, both for ourselves and for our visitors
  • to favour social awareness of the importance and value of our natural resources
  • to contribute to the forestry research and experimentation required to make the most needy islands and areas green again.
The Foundation operates all over the Canary Islands, although most of its activities take place on Gran Canaria. Nonetheless, Foresta is currently developing projects on other islands, such as Tenerife.
